Pain will always hide from us, and be potentially ever present
Why for every happy soul, there’s a sad one? Why does
pleasure attract pain, and pain attract pleasure? Why does,
for instance, life contain within itself pleasure, but also
pain to counteract this pleasure? Why do I realize this
truth, and why is it true? Like the clash of a warm front
with a cold front brings about winds, the clash of pleasure
with anger produces physical and/or mental pain?! Pain
is ever present, no matter how much we try to escape it,
and perhaps we will some day figure out, that pleasure
doesn’t come freely...some have lived lives of pleasure,
while others lives of pain. It’s excruciating when one thinks
to him/herself that this is so, that
this life is so injust but yet some still believe that
there will be redemption, perhaps in an afterlife.
And because pain is potentially ever present, we cannot
eliminate it, nor can we escape it. And our answer has been
to try and either hide from it, or escape it, seeking out ways
that favor our own pleasure, but never realizing that while
the pain is in a sense gone, it’s potential pain that exists
as long as we are alive...
