Antarctic cold fronts on the move...
About 3 days ago, a cold front originating from Antarctica, swept across
Australia, bringing temperatures tumbling, with almost all cities down to less
than 10 degrees C, except one that reached between 12 & 13 degrees. More
recently, an Antarctic wave reached pretty far north yet once again, this time
all of the way up to northern Argentina, sending temperatures plummeting
into cold, see here:
Meanwhile, over 600 Peruvians have died due to temperatures of -15 degrees C. All of these
events happening on or just about on the turn of autumn with Winter. It was truly intriguing to see a huge glacier in southern South America, with at least
two inches of snow laying on branches in the foreground; I’m not saying
that it’s unusual, but something that I’ve seen for the first time in my life.
